Rally for Marijuana Legalization to Be at Obama’s MA Visit

Obama Marijuana

Massachusettsans are rallying to confront President Barack Obama when he visits a local Worcester high school this June. Many people believe that the President has been speaking so fondly about the legalization of medical marijuana over the last year simply in order to attract a younger demographic of voters in specific key states.

There are however, people who still see Mr. Obama as genuinely caring about and supporting the medical marijuana movement, but he is being pulled in different directions due to political constraints. Regardless, the president does have the power to change marijuana from a schedule one to a schedule two narcotic which would acknowledge that there is some medicinal value. He also has the power of clemency, which would allow him the ability to pardon anyone in jail on a marijuana offense.

This protest is interesting because regardless of which side you are on it gives people the right to show up and either thank the president for what he’s done so far or to ask him to “Get moving” and to “make a change” while he still has the power to do so.
