New Commission Assumes Oversight of Medical Marijuana in Massachusetts

Cannabis

Oversight of the medical marijuana program in Massachusetts is now in the hands of the state’s Cannabis Control Commission. The Department of Public Health commented that the transition was smooth. The changes haven’t made much difference in operations for patients, dispensaries or caregivers.

No complaints have been made as of yet, according to Mass Live. The Cannabis Control Commission now oversees both medical and recreational marijuana. Those employed by the Department of Public Health for the medical marijuana program were transferred to the Cannabis Control Commission.

Nichole Snow of the Massachusetts Patient Advocacy Alliance said, “So far, so good.”

For those that have not received it, the new contact phone number for the medical marijuana program is 833-869-6820.
