Recreational marijuana sales began in two Massachusetts cities on November 20. Only twohave opened, but three more recreational retailers have been approved to open.
The first day of sales totaled $440,000, according to WCVB 5 News. In the first five days, the stores brought in over $2.2 million.
Since opening, NETA, one of the dispensaries, reports serving about 2,000 customers daily.
Amanda Rositano of NETA said, “I think this is such a historic moment where adults can finally purchase cannabis legally that I think there’s so much excitement around it.”
Medical marijuana patients do have an advantage by not having to wait in the long line as recreational customers.
