Massachusetts Marijuana Opponents Attempt to Ban Dispensaries

MA Cannabis

Opponents of marijuana legalization in Massachusetts are working to create grassroots campaigns to ban marijuana businesses. These anti-legalization activists plan to go town-to-town supporting bans on the businesses. Westboro resident Jody Hensley is a key organizer of these bans.

These opponents urge state lawmakers to amend the voter-approved law, according to WAMC Radio. The amendments wanted would make it easier for communities to ban retail marijuana sales. Some temporary moratoriums are in place.

Hensley said, “It was a very complicated process to figure out how our community could opt out. The law is written to confuse.”

Dates for campaign rallies and other to make the proposed amendments have not been announced.
