Massachusetts’s Marijuana Committee Is Holding a Public Hearing

Massachusetts MMJ Law

A public hearing is scheduled for Monday at the West Springfield High School. The Joint Committee on Marijuana Policy will begin the hearing at 4 p.m. Residents and lawmakers will be able to speak at the hearing.

Some of the discussion will be regarding the implementation of recreational marijuana regulations, according to WWLP 22 News. The discussion will also be open for the potential changes that may be made to the existing law. This hearing comes amidst the review of 44 separate marijuana bills to make changes to the existing law.

One potential change may be the homegrow limit. It may be changed from 12 plants to six. Another bill aims to give local municipalities more control over recreational marijuana shops in their jurisdictions.

Hearings will be scheduled in Boston and Shewsbury in the next month.
